Prospective Contestants and Parents

Dear Prospective Contestant and Parents,

It is our honor to offer you the distinguished opportunity for your daughter to represent our Filipino-American community in the Little Miss Philippines VA 2020 pageant.

Established in 1978 by the Filipino-American Veterans of Hampton Roads, the Little Miss Philippines Pageant was developed with a two-fold mission: a) to promote our Filipino culture by selecting girls to be youth ambassadors in our Hampton Roads community to represent the beauty and talent of our young generation and b) to raise funds to support the construction of the Philippine Cultural Center of VA through our Filipino cultural activities.

CUFOT is excited to revive the Little Miss Philippines VA pageant this year. As our Filipino culture holds women in high esteem, pageants have traditionally been a vehicle through which we have been able to proudly highlight the beauty, creativity, intelligence, ambition, grace, and humility of the Filipina. Through this program, we hope to continue to set the example that we are proud of the young “Dalagas” whom we nurture to strive to be the best that they can be for their families, their communities, and their world.

Our hope is that your daughter will enjoy participating in our pageant and will take away beautiful memories and gain experiences that will empower her to be a positive role model and leader and to live her life as an ambassador for her Filipino heritage. Through the camaraderie with other contestants, she will develop long-lasting friendships and share a sense of pride and community achievement in helping to generate support for the maintenance and further growth of our Philippine Cultural Center and its cultural programs.

The enclosed package outlines the eligibility requirements and the processes in place to earn the titles of Little Miss Philippines VA and Her Court.

All proceeds from the pageant will benefit the Philippine Cultural Center VA. All donations to the Council of United Filipino Organizations of Tidewater (CUFOT) are tax deductible under the 501C3 #52-1236958.

We extend our gratitude to your family for joining us in this endeavor to promote our CUFOT cultural programs and to support the Philippine Cultural Center of Virginia. The pageant committee wishes success for your daughter’s participation in continuing the legacy of Little Miss Philippines VA!
